Bee venom (apitoxin) is a product of secretory activity of glands of honeybee workers. It is a transparent, slightly yellowish liquid, bitter and burning to the taste, with a peculiar sharp aromatic smell. The density is 1.1313 g/ml, the pH of its aqueous solution is 4.5—5.5. The poison contains about 40% of the dry residue and dries quickly in the air. But, despite this, its toxic properties persist for a long time. It is able to have a beneficial effect on various diseases, and therefore it is used for medical purposes

The benefits of bee venom are as follows:

It has an immunostimulating effect: based on the concentration, it inhibits or enhances the action of the immune system.
It is an analgesic (analgesic effect), which is 50 times stronger than novocaine.
It has antiseptic, bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects, but only in insignificant concentrations. Causes the death of some pathogenic microorganisms, for example, staphylococci and E. coli.
Dilates blood vessels and reduces their permeability. Affects the quality of blood: increases the level of red blood cells, hemoglobin, blood becomes less viscous.
Reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood.
It has a general stimulating effect on organs and organ systems.
