History reference: Admiralty Izhora factories - one of the oldest industrial enterprises in Russia, was founded in 1722 by decree of Peter the Great. Initially, it specialized in the supply of ship timber, anchors and copper sheets for the Russian fleet.

In 1803, the master plan for the reconstruction of plants was approved by Emperor Alexander I. Instead of primitive wooden buildings, the construction of stone buildings of workshops and workshops began, which became recognized monuments of industrial architecture. In 1803-1804, according to the project of the Scottish architect Vasily Geste, a factory office was built, it became one of the first structures of the plant reconstruction plan. In addition, Geste designed workshop buildings: a copper foundry, a gun, a ship, and also the anchor and rolling plants were part of the complex of buildings. For technical needs, Göste, together with K. K. Gascoigne, also built a stone factory dam on the Izhora River. Since 1806, Izhora factories began manufacturing cast tools.

Today, Izhora Plants is an operating enterprise that produces equipment for nuclear power plants, products for the petrochemical industry and blanks for various industries from metal of own production.
