History reference: The medal was used as a gift from the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1989-1991, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was the permanent legislative body of power in the Soviet Union.

Obverse

On the obverse of the commemorative medal there is an image of the building of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Next to the central element of the image are the fortress towers of the Moscow Kremlin, overlooking the embankment with a granite parapet.

Reverse

The reverse side of the commemorative medal is smooth with the image of the coat of arms of the USSR. In the central part of the globe, there is a hammer and sickle surrounded by ears of wheat in ribbons.
