Mastopathy is a benign disease characterized by pathological changes in the breast tissue, which has been known in medicine since the 1880s. Nowadays a steady increase in the number of women suffering from this disease is noticed. Mastopathy is noticed in a great number of women of different age - from 30 to 70% of women of reproductive age are exposed to this disorder, and if a woman also has gynecological pathology, the risk of breast changes increases up to 98%.

Scientists have proved that in combination with mastopathy malignant breast diseases (including breast cancer) are 3-5 times more frequent. Mastopathy can occur in women both at the time of their first menstruation and at the time of menopause. Moreover, there are cases of detection of mastopathy in men as well. According to the statistics given by mammologists in the USA, there are up to 900 cases of mastopathy in men on the territory of this country per year. Mastopathy is the most common breast pathology today.

The following symptoms may cause suspicion of mastopathy:

Breast pain that accompanies a woman during the second half of her menstrual cycle, transitioning to her period.
Breasts become coarser and increase in volume, especially before menstruation.
There is a feeling of heaviness in the breasts and discomfort is felt.
