The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul are two of the most important Apostles of Christ, therefore they are pictured together. They also taught together in Rome before their martyrdom. Some say that they were killed on the same day. 

Saint Peter and Paul’s feast days are celebrated June 29, as well as on June 30 with all the other Apostles.
