Is it OK to water plants in the morning or evening?

The best time of the day to water your plants depends on several factors: the temperature, humidity, and level of sunlight the plant is exposed to. Here are a few general guidelines:

Watering in the morning is a good option for most plants since it allows the leaves to dry out before nightfall, which reduces the risk of fungal diseases. Watering in the morning also gives the plant a chance to absorb water before the heat of the day sets in, which might cause way too quick evaporation.

Watering in the evening is also an option for some plants, especially those that prefer high humidity or live in hot and dry climates. However, it is better to avoid watering late in the evening as this can cause the foliage to remain wet overnight, increasing the risk of fungal diseases.

Try to avoid watering during the day. It's not a good idea to water during the hottest part of the day when the sun is most intense. As a result, the water may evaporate quickly, making it challenging for the plant to absorb it. Furthermore, water droplets on leaves can magnify sunlight and cause the foliage to burn.

Keep a simple tracker near your plants and mark the date you last watered each one and the interval that is required. This will help you remember when it's time to water each plant again.
