Kelp layers - sea cabbage contains high-molecular polysaccharides (laminarin), iodide salts, mannitol, alginic acid, alginates (calcium salts of alginic acids), macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.
The laxative effect is due to the ability of the drug to swell and, increasing in volume, cause irritation of receptors in the intestinal mucosa. Due to the content of iodine salts, the drug also has a thyroid and hypolipidemic effect.
Indications
It is used as a laxative for chronic atonic constipation (including in patients with hyperlipidemia)
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including to iodine), hyperthyroidism, multi-nodular goiter, thyrotoxicosis of various genesis, nephritis, nephrosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis and other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity, acute fever, pregnancy, lactation.
Method of administration and dosage

Side effects
With prolonged use and hypersensitivity to iodine, the phenomena of iodism (runny nose, urticaria, Quincke's edema, salivation, lacrimation, acne on the skin, etc.), allergic reactions are possible.
