This plan is about a 12x10 gable pavilion attached to the house. You can use this to cover the porch, and you don't have to cut into the house siding. You just need to anchor the posts along the house into the ground in 3 ft concrete footings and seal the roof joint to the house with flashing. The 12x10 refers to the base, outside post to outside post.
