From ancient times, katyk has been prepared from goat, buffalo, camel and sheep milk in Iran, Central Asia, Bulgaria and the Balkans. Among Turkic peoples, the product has been known for more than two thousand years. For centuries, the product had a reputation as a cure for all diseases and a symbol of longevity. Katyk was made in clay jars: milk was gradually boiled down to thickness at high temperature.

Khatyk contains vitamins A, E and B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, iron. Lactobacillus in the product normalizes digestion, helps to digest heavy foods and strengthens the body's immune system. Katyk is good for bones, teeth, hair and nails.
