The phenomenal healing properties of reishi have been known for more than two thousand years. Under the names "Longevity Mushroom", "Mushroom of Spiritual Power", "Mushroom of Ten Thousand Years" it is used in fungotherapy in different countries as a powerful remedy for cardiovascular, pulmonary and allergic diseases, liver and blood diseases, tumors of various etiologies, diabetes.

In past centuries, rulers bought reishi for the price of gold. Places where reishi grows were carefully hidden and guarded. Peasants who found a new mushroom were enriched, because they could collect and give the harvest for many years. The reishi mushroom also grows in the Altai Mountains. The Gorno-Altaic variety is even more effective, since here this mushroom grows mainly on larch wood. The export volume of the Mountain Altai reishi has grown to 12 tons per year.
